Free lunch to offer wide menu of help for business on regulations

Excellent cuisine will be combined with expert advice on business regulations at a free lunch this Thursday (January 28), hosted by the D2N2 Growth Hub service.

The Growth Hub, part of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership – a private sector led partnership promoting economic growth and jobs creation across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – is hosting the event as part of its Better Business Regulation (BBR) service; which aims to make business regulations simpler and easier to understand for owners. Previous BBR lunch events include one held in Sneinton last summer (2015), pictured.

The free lunch, featuring authentic Indian cuisine, will be held this Thursday (January 28), from 11.30am to 2pm, at The Atrium centre, 99 Hucknall Road, Carrington, Nottingham.

It will feature brief presentations aimed at businesses from regulators who enforce fire protection, food and hygiene, and health and safety regulations; by representatives from the Nottingham City Council Environmental Health Department, and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Business owners can ask questions of regulators, for example on the star ratings system relating to food and hygiene, and can network with similar businesses.

The D2N2 Growth Hub team will also give a small presentation on how they support businesses looking to expand and explain how to access its many different services.

Paul Cooper, D2N2 Better Business Regulation Co-ordinator, said: “This is a great opportunity for companies to get up-to-date information on business regulations affecting them, in a relaxed atmosphere where they can also network with owners of similar businesses.

“The BBR service is here to make such regulations clearer and easier to understand, especially for small and medium-sized businesses.”

The lunch event is free but business owners attending must be from the D2N2 area (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire) and should book a place in advance.

To book to attend the event please email admin@theicca.co.uk giving your name and contact details (phone number and email), the name of your company and the nature of your business. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
