Budding entrepreneurs can get free information, advice and support from the StartUp Britain team, who are taking to the road and visiting Worksop on Friday, 9 August 2013.
The StartUp Britain bus, hosted by Bassetlaw District Council, will be on Worksop’s Old Market Square from 9.30am to 3.30pm offering lots of ideas and advice from entrepreneurs who have had experience setting up their own business.
Free advice available includes:
- a social media seminar delivered by Jessica Zeun, freelance IT consultanta
- talk from StartUp Britain’s co-founder Emma Jones about starting a business on a budget
- targeted business support through the PRIME programme for the over 50s
- how to pitch business ideas to large retailers.
Advice will also be on offer about how to apply for a StartUp Loan and the funding options available for small businesses and other useful government initiatives.
Councillor Diana Meale, Nottinghamshire County Council’s Chair of Economic Development said: “With four out of five local businesses employing less than nine people, it’s proof that small businesses created by local entrepreneurs really are the economic lifeblood of our county.
“The StartUp Britain bus complements the work by the County Council, like the superfast broadband project, to give businesses the tools they need to be competitive in the marketplace.”
Councillor Jo White, Bassetlaw District Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration added: “We have worked hard to bring the StartUp Bus to Nottinghamshire and I hope that budding entrepreneurs from across the County visit Worksop to get expert advice on starting their own business.”
People who register will receive regular updates about who is visiting and reminders.
The event is being hosted by StartUp Britain and Bassetlaw District Council.
