As one of North Nottinghamshire’s biggest employers, Center Parcs contributes an estimated £20 million to the local economy each year.
The company, which is headquarterd in Ollerton, welcomes 1.7 million guests at its sites across the UK, including its first UK holiday village which opened in Sherwood Forest in 1987.
Chief executive Martin Dalby said: “Center Parcs is a major employer in North Nottinghamshire, with 1,500 jobs at Sherwood Forest and a further 250 employees based at our head office in Ollerton.”
“The vast majority of employees live within 15 miles of the Sherwood Forest Village, and the economic impact of Center Parcs to the area is estimated to be around £20 million per year through wages, local contracts and onward spend.”
“We have very close links with the communities in which we operate and as a major employer, offer a huge range of roles and contracts to opportunities to local people.”
“Our housekeeping teams, for example, can benefit from a special bus service that will bring them to the Village on changeover days at times that fit in with school hours.”
Center Parcs’ second holiday village was opened in 1989, at Elveden Forest in Suffolk, and in 1994 the third attraction was unveiled in Longleat Forest, Wiltshire. In 2001, Center Parcs acquired the Oasis Holiday Village in Cumbria, which was rebranded as Whinfell Forest and the fifth Center Parcs UK Village is about to open at Woburn Forest.
