D2N2 Chief Executive David Ralph this afternoon attended a special event with Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
The MP spent a hour answering questions from a wide range of people from the East Midlands at an event hosted by Capital FM in Nottingham.
Mr Ralph was invited to attend the event and said: “It was an interesting event and good to see Mr Clegg speaking in the D2N2 area.
“He remarked on previously living in Ruddington during his time as an East Midlands MEP and so he knows this patch well.
“It was good to hear him talk about the importance of sustainable jobs, the low-carbon agenda and the challenge of upskilling young people and those already in the workforce.
“He also expressed his full support for HS2, a project which has the united support of the D2N2 Board and its earliest delivery of Phase Two is something we want to see, providing investor confidence and certainty.”
