D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire – is hitting the road early this year for a series of free breakfast briefings to meet with businesses, stakeholders and other partners.
This year will see D2N2 submit its final Strategic Economic Plan (SEP) to Government, a Growth Deal completed and its national and European funds confirmed, resulting in a step change from planning to delivery.
Similar events proved a big success in early 2013 and this new series of breakfast dates will provide an opportunity to engage on the progress of the LEP and consult on its future plans.
Each event will feature guest speakers and a Q&A session.
Those attending will learn about D2N2’s plans for meeting its target of helping create 55,000 jobs by 2023.
Businesses will also get the chance to find out more about our multi-million pound Unlocking Investment for Growth grant programme, which is supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund.
Skills Support for the Workforce across the D2N2 patch will also be on the agenda, with millions of pounds of funding available for businesses to access in order to upskill their workforce without any cost to their company.
The breakfasts – which are free to attend – will run from 7.30am to 10.00am and take place at the following venues:
Wednesday 5th February, 2014 @ MediCity, Nottingham
Tuesday 11th February, 2014 @ ABC Bakewell, Bakewell
Tuesday 18th February, 2014 @ Clumber Park Hotel, nr Worksop
Friday 21st February, 2014 @ Best Western Hotel, Long Eaton
Friday 28th February, 2014 @ Lindhurst Rooms, Mansfield Civic Centre
Tuesday 18th March, 2014 @ Glossop Cricket and Bowling Club, Glossop
Wednesday 2nd April, 2014 @ UDC Enterprise Centre/Derby
D2N2 Chief Executive David Ralph said: “Our Strategic Economic Plan sets out a ten-year plan to deliver 55,000 jobs across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
“Business led, it is important that as many companies as possible, from SMEs to the biggest firms, provide input.
“To help this, a series of Business Breakfasts across the D2N2 area have been arranged and we hope people will attend for a number of reasons.
“Firstly, we need to continue the development of the plan and secondly we will enjoy the opportunity to engage and network with businesses across what is a diverse area.
“Thirdly, it is an opportunity for them to find out about the funding opportunities surrounding skills and business growth that are already at their disposal from D2N2, the Local Enterprise Partnership.”
The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership was established to drive economic growth, job creation and prosperity across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
