D2N2 Chairman Peter Richardson is at Toyota’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire this afternoon for a ceremony to mark the start of production on a new car.
The Auris Touring Sports is the first full hybrid estate vehicle in its class and industry experts believe it will be a good seller in Europe and safeguard jobs at Burnaston.
The firm is celebrating with a Start of Production Ceremony attended by the Secretary of State for Transport and Derbyshire MP Patrick McLoughlin.
