
Asha Khemka OBE, who has joined the D2N2 LEP Board
D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – has strengthened its board.
At yesterday’s meeting at Markham Vale, D2N2 chairman Peter Richardson welcomed five new members.
Councillor Roger Blaney, the leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council, was there as the representative of the Nottinghamshire boroughs and districts.
Councillor John Burrows, leader of Chesterfield Borough Council, is the new representative for Derbyshire’s boroughs and districts but was unable to attend yesterday. Councillor Bob Wheeler, of South Derbyshire DC, deputised.
Asha Khemka OBE, the Principal and Chief Executive of West Nottinghamshire College Group, was welcomed as the new Further Education representative and Rob Crowder was in attendance as the voluntary and community sector representative.
Liz Fothergill is the new Derby business representative on the board and attended her first meeting.
The new representatives join Mr Richardson (chairman), Councillor Alan Rhodes (Notts County Council leader), Councillor Anne Western (Derbyshire County Council leader), Councillor Paul Bayliss (Derby City Council leader), Councillor Jon Collins (Nottingham City Council leader), Peter Gadsby (private sector), Trevor Fletcher (private sector), Professor John Coyne (Higher Education representative) and Richard Horsley (DNCC representative) on the current board.
