For any ambitious local business, building a dynamic workforce is key. Finding the right people and giving them the skills they need can mean the difference between success and failure.
That’s why D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – has teamed up with Ingeus to help deliver high impact short courses, bespoke skills training and accredited qualifications to SMEs in the area.
Ingeus has been selected by the Skills Funding Agency to deliver training as part of the European Social Fund Investment in the D2N2 region.
And the company has developed the Workforce Investment Network (WIN) to help businesses by delivering impartial advice and guidance before matching them up to the best training for their workforce.
Louise Preston, Regional Director for Ingeus, said, “The Ingeus Workforce Investment Network is a new initiative that brings together the best of the region’s training providers to make a real difference to local businesses. It offers SMEs in D2N2 something which goes beyond what is currently available.
“We analyse the needs and skills gaps within each individual business, provide impartial advice and guidance, and then deliver high quality skills training from the best training provider for that business.
“There is no cost to D2N2 businesses or their staff for any of the guidance, analysis or training received. WIN is about working together to invest experience and expertise into D2N2 businesses which helps them to succeed and grow. It’s good for local business and the success it leads to is good for the region’s economy.”
For the last five years Ingeus has been listed in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, so they know all about creating a dynamic, motivated and highly skilled workforce. The Workforce Investment Network aims to help D2N2 businesses to do the same.
D2N2 Chief Executive David Ralph: “We are working with Ingeus to identify bespoke schemes which will benefit and add value to the area.
“I am sitting on the steering group helping to take this forward, it will give a greater local influence to provide training programmes that will benefit the businesses in the local area when it comes to training and developing the skills required. It is about best value and making a difference.
“We are pleased with this new way of working as it gives more local input. We are very supportive of Ingeus, they are a solid local deliverer and we are pleased to be involved with this partnership.”
