SHOPPERS in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are being encouraged to give their support to small local businesses tomorrow.
Small Business Saturday (December 7) is all about encouraging everyone in the UK to shop locally and support small businesses, both on the day and beyond.
This year will see the first Small Business Saturday in the UK, held on one of the busiest shopping days of the year – the first Saturday in December.
And D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – wants local people to shop local and support small businesses.
Chief Executive David Ralph said: “This is a great initiative for people to support their small businesses by shopping local.
“There are some tremendous people working hard to run some great businesses and it is important we go out and show our support.
“The first Saturday in December is widely regarded as the busiest shopping day of the year as people start to do their Christmas shopping in earnest and where better to do it than with your local small businesses.”
