Chief Executive David Ralph today announced that D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – will launch its low-carbon action plan for consultation next month.
He was speaking as he addressed The Future Economy: Sustainability Best Practice Summit, organised by the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC), which took place at the University of Nottingham’s Sir Colin Campbell Building earlier today.
Mr Ralph will outline specific programme area opportunities where he feels D2N2 can make the biggest economic impact when it comes to low carbon and that will form the basis of the consultation.
The full details of the action plan will be revealed at the Nottingham Conference Centre on Wednesday, November 6, as part of a packed agenda during a full-day national low-carbon event.
Leading experts are meeting for the first time to showcase ways in which “green collar” job creation is starting to drive local economic development in the UK.
The ‘Growing a Local Low Carbon Employment & Business Sector’ conference will bring together cities and regions from across the UK to share experiences as to how the low-carbon sector is being harnessed to create jobs and businesses.
It is a joint event organised by CleanTech Business Ltd and Cambridge Cleantech and supported by D2N2 LEP and takes places from 9am to 5pm.
