HM Ambassador to the Czech Republic, along with a team of Central and Eastern European trade experts, will tour the UK next month highlighting the growth opportunities for UK businesses.
The Healthcare and Life Sciences Roadshow has been organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and will visit the region on 1 October.
East Midlands healthcare and medical firms are being offered the chance to find out from Jan Thompson, HM Ambassador to the Czech Republic, and the other specialists, how they can access sales across countries including Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Romania and Bulgaria through one to one meetings with the experts.
Brian Hickmott, Life Sciences specialist for UKTI East Midlands said:
“Central Europe offers major opportunities for British Healthcare and Life Sciences companies, with significant growth potential in the years to come.
“This is a dynamic and exciting market with many UK companies already thriving throughout the region. British firms have doubled trade exports to Eastern and Central European countries in the last 10 years but we still lag behind our rivals.
“The nine countries represented at the roadshow, as a whole, have a combined population of over 100 million people, a combined GDP in excess of £1 trillion and annual average growth rates that have far exceeded most other European countries in recent years.
“With a lower overall risk profile than emerging markets further from the UK and with most countries being located just 2-3 hours from the UK, Central Europe is an important market.
“The East Midlands has always been rightly proud of its international reputation for life sciences and ability to seize opportunities across the globe, from the invention of Ibuprofen to advanced medical healthcare devices.
“This roadshow gives our renowned firms yet another chance to boost sales.”
The roadshow will be held at MediCity Nottingham on Thane Road from 9am to 4pm on 1 October.
