The Erewash Partnership’s major summer networking event and manufacturing showcase takes places on Friday, July 11.
About 40 exhibition places have been snapped up for the event at Lakeside Hall, Kirk Hallam Community Technology and Sports College on July 11.
The event is open to the public, including parents and pupils looking at career options, and teachers. The popular event attracted more than 200 people last year. For details see the website. www.erewash-partnership.com
Meanwhile, an electrical contracting company based in Ilkeston has become the latest sponsor of enterprise agency Erewash Partnership.
CJ Timms has been a member of the Partnership, which helps regenerate the borough of Erewash, since 2008.
The company was set up by Chris Timms in 1992. Since his death in 2010 the company has been run by his sons Roger and Russell.
With a workforce of eight, it provides electrical installations for commercial, industrial and domestic premises. It also provides data cabling.
Roger said: “We want to be working with more local businesses and we feel that this can be done through the Partnership, which encourages local firms to work with one another. We think sponsoring the Partnership will help that and raise our profile at its networking events.”
Partnership chief executive Ian Viles said: “We are pleased to welcome CJ Timms as the newest sponsor to our organisation which supports business formation and growth.”
The Partnership, which has been inspiring enterprise for 20 years, continues to grow and now has around 450 members across different sectors of industry and commerce, from sole traders to SMEs.
New members include SWA Design, a creative and design company run by 19-year-old entrepreneur Haydn Bowley. At the age of 14 he designed his first website for his local surgery.
In contrast, another new member is Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel and Country Club which rejoices in the title of the oldest Marriott Hotel in the world, as it is based in a stately residence which can be traced back to the 13th century.
Ian added: “As well as our latest sponsor we are delighted to welcome new members, particularly in the run up to our summer business exhibition.”
