The Ingenuity Breakfast Events Programme – 2015
The current round of breakfast events has been well received and attracted sizeable audiences. We intend to build on this strong platform by delivering an equally successful programme during 2015. We have a number of ideas for the themes for each session but we would welcome your input, so if you have any specific subjects you would like us to cover, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We can then find suitable academics and business leaders to deliver a programme tailored to the needs of the Ingenuity network.

Better Business for All
The government has set a priority of reducing the regulatory burden on businesses and has set up the ‘Better Business for All’ project to support this important initiative. Our Local Enterprise Partnership ‘D2N2’ has created a LinkedIn group enabling business to get advice, ask questions and comment on the whole process. ‘Discover’ – Ingenuity’s specialist search function
The Ingenuity Network is an ever growing collection of businesses together with an extensive range of university assets – the challenge is how do you find anything within such a vast and diverse range of resources?
‘Discover’ is a sophisticated search facility designed specifically to look at all businesses listed in the directory on the Ingenuity site as well as many of the university’s business relevant resources.

Making Good Decisions

For any company, making the right decisions is key. Whether those decisions concern hiring, firing, planning or evaluating, difficult decisions will have to be made – and made quickly. This free one-day workshop will provide business leaders with tools to support their decision making processes, developed by internationally renowned researchers based at the University of Nottingham.

Growth 100
Growth 100 is open to Nottingham-based businesses and recruitment is now underway for the next intake, starting in October 2014. This free programme is designed to fit around the needs of running a business, with twelve one-day practical sessions delivered over a nine month period. The workshops are geared towards how the business leader creates and manages growth; they cover topics such as leadership, innovation, finance, HR, sales and marketing, using a combination of business theory supported by real life examples from business mentors.

Future Gazing & Future Shaping

Regular attendees of the breakfast sessions know that Chris Barnatt has some interesting and challenging views about the future. His theme this time is ‘Nobody can predict the future.’ However, by studying the latest technology developments, social trends, and data on resource availability, it is possible to predict a range of possible futures.
