INDEPENDENT information technology consultancy Economit has taken on two extra staff and moved into new offices in Derby city centre as business grows.
The company was set up in September 2011 by Derby technology entrepreneurs Mike Donoghue and Nick Gall.
“We wanted to create an IT offering that wasn’t bound by the profit margins made by selling IT equipment, the only way we could do this was to offer an independent consultancy service,” said Mike.
Economit gives independent and impartial advice and consultancy services to businesses and other organisations.
This includes everything from IT infrastructure and networking to mobile technologies and unified communications, all integrated and with saving costs in mind, hence the name Economit.
The company’s advice has achieved savings of in excess of 500k to date for their Midlands client base.
The company has moved from Castle Donington to St Michael’s Studios in Queen Street, where it has taken on Just Weir as business and projects co-ordinator and Josh Turner as business development executive.
“We are delighted to say that we have been so busy with phenomenal growth over the last two years that we need bigger offices and more staff,” said Mike.
“We are planning to expand even more during 2014. This is testament to the different approach that we have for delivering IT services.”
Both Justin and Josh have entrepreneurial backgrounds, having run their own companies – Justin in recruitment, and Josh in setting up a chain of coffee houses.
“Justin and Josh have both run their own businesses successfully and we hope to take advantage of that expertise to move Economit forward,” added Mike.
