Mansfield 2020 Awarded Midlands Business Club of the Year

Mansfield 2020 has been crowned ‘The Midlands Business Club of the Year 2014’ at the Prestigious Midlands Business Awards event held at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham.

Mansfield 2020 is the longest established business club in the area. Since formation in 1991 the club has been the driving force behind business growth, regeneration and development for North Nottinghamshire. The club was recognised and awarded for their achievements to date at this major event in the business calendar for the whole of the Midlands region.

Operations Manager Caroline Cox commented on the award: ‘We are delighted to win this award. But I would like to stress this is not for Mansfield 2020 – this award is a thank you to all our members! This is recognition for the loyalty and determination of our business community. We understand that we uniquely unite networks and make growth happen but to be acknowledged for the work the group does amongst other prestigious clubs within the Midlands region is evident that Mansfield is a town that will help itself.

This award will help to put Mansfield on the map and drive our growth strategy forward for the benefit of the entire town.’

Long standing board directors and indeed lifetime achievement award winners Kath Jephson and Irvin Robinson stated: ‘We believe very strongly in our local business community as a whole. It is with their support and input that has enabled the group to drive forward vital changes needed to make sustainable economic growth happen and we will continue to do so for the long term.’

Over the last 20 years through the unity of private and public sector partnerships the club has been the driving force behind changes demanded from the business community in order to help grow organisations in Mansfield and surrounding area.

Achievements to date includes lobbying the government to re-open the Robin Hood train line, schemes to improve road links to major national routes, including the Mansfield and Ashfield Regeneration Route (MARR) and most recently they have been lobbying for a Business Rate freeze and the resurrection of the Mansfield Half Marathon. All this activity sits alongside the intuitive networking solutions to connect and encourage inter-trading and inward investment.
