New open calls for European Social Fund (ESF) projects

It also aims to improve the situation of the most vulnerable people at risk of poverty. Two new calls are live now for applicants who wish to submit proposals to access European Social Fund:

  • Skills for productivity and growth in D2N2

Apprenticeship and jobs fund

Call to run a project/s designed to provide improved access to quality advice on apprenticeships and skills for employers and learners and access to funding for responsive skills.

Through this call, D2N2 LEP is seeking a programme of activity to broker opportunities for Apprenticeship levy to be used as match to support new apprenticeship starts in relevant SMEs within the levy payer’s supply chain or industry sector and build competitive advantage through the development and increase of high quality apprenticeships prioritising the following key sectors:

  • Construction
  • Food and drink manufacturing

Skills for Productivity and Growth in D2N2

Call to run a project to support improvements in the labour market relevance of skills provision through active engagement with employers, particularly SMEs and Micro businesses. This will include developing skills to grow in current markets and gain enhanced business access to future and emerging markets in the post COVID-19 and Brexit landscape.

This call will support the D2N2 ambition for employed individuals to increase their skills levels and encourage progression in employment, for the current or future opportunities that may emerge. The additional support will support employees to gain higher skills, to drive growth in their organisation by improving productivity and innovation.

This call will lead to a project which will be flexible, responsive and aligned to the skills needs of our businesses. The additional support from this investment priority will enable the design of skills provision which will help individuals gain skills and qualifications relevant to the needs of the employer and labour market; particularly those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Approximately £2,000,000 of ESF is available and the deadline is 10 June 2021.
