Peter Richardson appointed permanent chairman of D2N2 LEP

PETER Richardson has been appointed as the permanent chairman of the D2N2 board for the next three years.

Mr Richardson has been in place since November last year when he took over from Colin Walton.

Mr Richardson, a prominent business figure in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, was brought in to lead the D2N2 Board up until the review of the Local Enterprise Partnership’s structure and governance.

That was conducted by Chief Executive David Ralph and this week’s board meeting saw the governance agreed and Mr Richardson appointed to the role for a three-year period.

Mr Richardson brings a wealth of experience to the role after a lifetime working in the financial services sector, most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Derbyshire Building Society.

He is a past Chair of Derbyshire Business Link and Derby Cityscape URC; current Chair of the Derby Renaissance Board and is also a member of the Governing Council of the University of Derby. He has also chaired the Championing Derbyshire Olympic Legacy 2012 Committee and is a co-director of a small family-run security company.

Mr Richardson will be speaking at D2N2’s Growth Plan Launch on Tuesday July 9, at Pride Park Stadium, Derby.
