D2N2 are proud to have invested £5 million of Local Growth Funding into the construction of the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Nottingham.
The £24 million pound project is a 96,000 square foot centre for world-class research; particularly for the aerospace, automotive, food, biomedical, energy generation, chemical products and digital manufacturing sectors and was completed in January 2018.
It is anticipated by the University that the building will create dozens of jobs in its first five years; as well as proving a huge help to manufacturing businesses in the D2N2 LEP area and beyond, providing technical expertise and assistance in the creation of new products.
The new facility aligns with ambitions in the Government’s new Industrial Strategy – and those in the D2N2’s own Strategic Economic Plan – to promote key sectors such as advanced manufacturing.
