Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre

D2N2 proudly invested £500,000 via the Local Growth Fund into the construction of a new Visitor Centre at one of the most famous attractions in the region, Sherwood Forest.

The new visitor centre replaced the original 1970s-built building after the RSPB won a competitive tender in 2015 to manage the Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve, along with partners Nottinghamshire County Council, Sherwood Forest Trust, The Woodland Trust, Thoresby Estate and Continuum Attractions.

Work began in 2017 and was completed in October 2018.

In 2019 the Visitor Centre scooped a hat-trick of awards for its design.
