Construction firm Stepnell has opened an office in Nottingham following an upsurge in its business across the East Midlands that could bring new jobs.
The office is at the Eldon Business Park, Chilwell. The East Midlands business specialises in projects for the education, commercial, residential, student accommodation, retail and leisure sectors.
Current schemes include a £1m refurbishment programme for the St George’s House office block in Leicester city centre which began at the end of 2013 and a £1.5m new-build housing development at Scraptoft, Leicester.
Stepnell operations and commercial manager Thomas Sewell, who heads the new office, said: “We’re delighted to have opened this new office in Nottingham which will support our expanding construction operations in the region and enhance the local delivery of projects.”
The new office is expected to create a number of new job and training opportunities in the region over the next 18 months, including trainee positions and construction apprenticeships.
Stepnell is a £66m turnover building and civil engineering business headquartered in Rugby.
