Councillor Chris Poulter
Leader of Derby City Council
Councillor Chris Poulter was first elected to represent Spondon Ward in 2006, having previously served 32 years in the Derbyshire Police. Prior to assuming his current role, he was also a long-standing member of the Licensing Committee.
Councillor Poulter was elected to serve as the Leader of the Council at the Annual General Meeting on 23 May 2018. Councillor Poulter is also the Cabinet Member for Strategy and Policy.
His responsibilities include overall strategic lead on all council services, strategic partnerships, international development, Derby Plan/Council Plan and community safety, cohesion and integration.
