James Brand

James has grown up living with and working in the Metals Industry. As the fifth generation in his family to do so, his attachment to the manufacturing sector and seeing it continue to fight and strive for success is one of his core principles.

He began his career in customer facing, commercial roles and has had the opportunity to travel and sell products to many different countries on the global platform.

He joined United Cast Bar in 2004 and began gathering further experience in manufacturing and operational, logistics and supply chain roles to establish himself as a well-rounded UCB Group Board Director in 2010.

He recognises businesses have an important role to play in the community, supporting Destination Chesterfield, a project established to raise the town’s profile as a place to invest, live and work. He has helped to establish and now chairs a Manufacturing Forum along with steering Chesterfield’s very own annual ‘Made in Chesterfield’ event designed to introduce the younger generation to manufacturing and all it has to offer as a career.
