UI4G Grant helped Rototek to expand

An £87,500 grant from D2N2 will see a Nottinghamshire company create seven new jobs and safeguard a further 22.

Newark-based Rototek specialises in rotational moulding, manufacturing a variety of everyday items ranging from boats (pictured) and water storage tanks to hospital bedside cabinets.

The helping hand from D2N2’s Unlocking Investment for Growth (UI4G) programme has enabled the company to expand business operations.

The company has used the grant as part of a £350,000 project to purchase three rotational moulding machines, broadening the size, range and type of its machinery and increasing its competitiveness in the European market.

The purchase has also helped Rototek start production from a second factory in Worksop.

In recent months, Rototek has seen a steady growth in production and job creation at its Newark factory which is expected to continue.

Rototek chairman Steff Wright said: “This grant has enabled the company to invest in the capacity needed to meet our customers’ requirements, in the process safeguarding and creating jobs in Worksop.”

D2N2 Chief Executive David Ralph said: “Rototek is a great example of how our UI4G programme can help deliver jobs and support growth of local businesses.

“UI4G has bridged the funding gap to make this project happen, with three further machines purchased to create further jobs this year and safeguard others.”
