Coldharbour Marine, long recognised in the shipping world for the design, manufacture and supply of inert gas and fluid handling equipment, is in the final stages of gaining accreditation for an innovative, inert gas driven, in-tank, ballast water treatment system. Projected international demand for this equipment underpins the company’s expansion and ambition recruitment programme.

According to Coldharbour Marine’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Marshall, “The move to larger premises is part of a planned expansion of our inert gas business and will ensure that Coldharbour is able to satisfy international demand for its products following their imminent ratification under the International Marine Organisations’ ballast water management convention.” (See Appendix)

For the first time Coldharbour’s administrative headquarters and staff offices, research and development facilities, laboratory, factory acceptance test (FAT) rig, stores and warehousing together with a high-tech factory will all be under one roof. The £1.5m investment in new hi-tech facilities were supported by the Local Enterprise Partnership, D2N2.

Following his tour of the premises, Mark Spencer said, “I am most impressed by this technical, manufacturing facility and very excited to hear about the high level engineering jobs it will bring to the local area. Coldharbour Marine is exactly the type of business we want to see growing in Nottinghamshire.

Its products are high-tech, serve international export markets and make a significant contribution to the environmental sustainability of the world-wide shipping industry.

Over the next 12 months, Coldharbour Marine expects to recruit 100 additional full time staff  bringing a wide range of  new skills to the business, the Admin team will be strengthened and Human Resources,  Health and Safety professionals, marine engineers and designers, project managers and generalist engineers will all be needed.
