Training organisation’s guide to access European funding

Members of a Nottinghamshire training organisation will hear of the possibilities open to business through a £214million funding ‘pot’, announced by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership.

The Nottinghamshire Training Network (NTN) meeting next Tuesday (March 31) will take its members through the announcement on the European Structural Investment Funds (ESIF), made by D2N2 earlier this month (March), and advise them on the bidding process and timescales. The meeting is open to invited NTN members only.

D2N2 – a partnership of businesses, local authorities, universities, further education providers and voluntary organisations across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – will advise Government on how the £214m funding for its area, available from now until 2020, should be spent.

Ongoing regulars ‘calls’ will be made for organisations to bid for project funding which will support a range of objectives, including:

  • Skills, training and employment
  • Innovation and business growth
  • Encouraging entrepreneurship
  • Low carbon business promotion
  • Better digital connectivity
  • Tackling social exclusion.

David Ralph, Chief Executive of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “I’d urge businesses, training and education providers, community groups and others to take advantage of the opportunity to promote economic growth in the D2N2 area.”

More information about the ESIF funding can be found on D2N2’s website at www.d2n2lep.org/EUFunding

Next Tuesday’s NTN meeting will also give an update on the national Trailblazer apprenticeship initiative.
