Derbyshire’s Thornbridge Brewery – which received a £78,000 D2N2 investment grant – is celebrating its tenth anniversary by holding a Festival of Beer in July.
This year’s Festival of Beer will run from July 3-5 at Thornbridge Outdoors in Bakewell, Derbyshire (DE45 1NY) and entry is free, with camping accommodation available in the area.
Thornbridge Brewery was set up in 2005 and received a £78,000 Unlocking Investment For Growth grant from D2N2, the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire in October of last year (2014).

This has helped fuel a £400,000 expansion which has allowed Thornbridge to keep up with customer demand for their quality ales. It has expanded the Brew House to increase production by up to 100%, taken on extra staff, added cellarage with six new vessels for storage and has a new automated kegging facility.
David Ralph, D2N2 Chief Executive said:
“I congratulate Thornbridge on their tenth year of operation. They have grown strongly in recent years and are a shining example of the D2N2 area’s capacity for innovation, excellence and world-class manufacturing expertise.”
Jim Harrison, Thornbridge Brewery owner and CEO said:
“Over the years Thornbridge Brewery has gone from strength to strength. Reaching the milestone that is our tenth year of business is phenomenal and the grant we received from the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership in October of last year will help us continue to deliver our quality goods to the UK and worldwide.”
Unlocking Investment for Growth (UI4G) is funded by the UK’s Regional Growth Fund and the European Regional Development Fund. UI4G grant awards are given by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership‘s Investment Panel, chaired by Peter Gadsby. The aim of the fund is to create long term sustainable jobs.
UI4G is now fully committed and we are no longer accepting applications. Grants already approved will create over 400 new jobs and safeguard a further 350 existing jobs. The programme has inspired business owners in the D2N2 area to invest over £20million, alongside the grant support of £4.7million, to grow their businesses. The programme is managed for D2N2 by EMB Ltd.
