An award-winning marine equipment manufacturer officially opened its new headquarters today (April 30) – which were funded with the help of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership.
Around 100 business people, supporters and politicians were present to see Coldharbour Marine – a leading designer and manufacturer of gas and fluid handling equipment, for tankers and other large sea vessels – open its 25,000 sq. ft. building in Robey Close, Linby, Nottinghamshire, this morning. Visitors were abe to tour the new site (pictured below).
The company was previously spread over three sites but now has its administrative headquarters, design office, research laboratory, development and test areas, stores and warehouse, and hi-tech assembly shop under one roof at Linby.

Part of the £1.5m investment came from the Unlocking Investment for Growth (UI4G) fund, run by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership.
D2N2 is a partnership between business, local authorities and universities which promotes economic growth and jobs creation in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Its UI4G fund is supported by the UK’s Regional Growth Fund and the European Regional Development Fund, through the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership Investment Panel, and aims to create long term, sustainable jobs.
Coldharbour Marine is recognised for the design, manufacture and supply of marine inert gas and fluid handling equipment particularly used in tankers, fuel carriers and floating production vessels. It recently achieved IMO (International Maritime Organisation) accreditation for its Ballast Water Treatment System.
Product demand means Coldharbour Marine is currently in the process of recruiting 100 full-time staff; including marine engineers and designers, project managers and mechanical engineers.
Andrew Marshall, Coldharbour Marine’s Chief Executive Officer, said today: “The move to larger premises is part of a planned expansion of our inert gas business, and will ensure that Coldharbour is able to satisfy ship owners and operators’ demand for products. “
David Ralph, Chief Executive for D2N2, was at today’s opening.
He added: “This is terrific news for jobs and growth in the area, and it was great to be at the official opening today. D2N2’s Unlocking Investment for Growth programme has helped companies access that additional piece of missing funding, which they needed to put their expansion plans into practice and grow the number of sustainable jobs.”
The UI4G programme is now fully committed and is no longer accepting applications.
Grants already approved will create over 400 new jobs and safeguard a further 350 existing jobs. The UI4G programme has inspired business owners in the D2N2 area to invest over £20million, alongside the grant support of £4.7million, to grow their businesses. The programme is managed for D2N2 by EMB Ltd.
