D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, appointed three new business leaders to its Board yesterday (September 14).
The D2N2 LEP board is made up of public and private sector leaders, and representatives from higher education (HE), Further education and the voluntary and community sector and is led by the Independent D2N2 Chair, Peter Richardson (pictured).
The three business leaders appointed yesterday are:
- Melanie Ulyatt – Managing Director of Chesterfield-based support agency One to One Support Services
- Andrew Pickin, Partner at Nottingham commercial law firm Shoosmiths
- Stephen Lehane, Human Resources (HR) director at Boots in Nottingham.
D2N2 is a partnership of business, local authorities, skills and training providers, and community organisations and invests resources and funding in skills and training, infrastructure, the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and its eight key sectors of economic focus, as part of its remit to promote economic growth and create jobs across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
D2N2 Chair Peter Richardson said:
“D2N2 LEP continues to move from strength to strength and our ambition is increasingly being met by delivery. The appointment of these three high calibre business people comes at a crucial time, with an increasing focus on economic sub-regions as part of the Devolution and the importance of private sector engagement and leadership in driving our economy forward.
“In appointing new Board members, we have considered carefully the key attributes that the LEP needs over the next year or so and from a high calibre field I’m delighted that through Melanie we are strengthening our skills know-how and capacity, as well as our relationship with the FSB; with Andrew our legal framework and connectivity with business engagement, particularly the CBI and with Stephen our relationship with Boots and his knowledge on business transformation.”
He added:
“The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership Board is a working Board, and these individuals have all agreed to give their time free of charge to ensure that the business voice is front and centre of delivery. I am grateful for their support and personally delighted they have agreed to step-up.”
