A series of six workshop sessions, attended by over 100 businesses and organisations in total, to help Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire access multi-million pound Europeans funds, has now come to an end.
D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – has held a series of six workshop sessions over the last two weeks across the area to help businesses and organisations understand how they can bid to deliver several recently announced European funding calls.
Last week, 2 events looked at the recently announced environment promotion call and also featured speakers from Natural England and the Environment Agency. This week’s series of four workshops also featured speakers from emfec and looked at the recently announced INSPIRE Local programme, which will help people with barriers to employment such as disability or mental health issues get into sustainable employment.
Both of the above funding calls are a part of the larger €250million European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) allocation for the D2N2 area, which is being used to improve various aspects of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire economy.
The events looked at European funding in the D2N2 area and helped potential applicants understand how to make successful bids to both the ERDF and ESF programmes. The deadline for applying to the environment preservation calls is May 27 (2016) and the deadline for applying to deliver the INSPIRE Local Programme is June 24 (2016).
Richard Kirkland, ESIF Co-Ordinator at the D2N2 LEP, who presented at all six events, said:
“It was great to see so many businesses and organisations at these workshops. There is a considerable appetite for European funding in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and by helping potential applicants with the bidding process, we hope that their ambitions will be realised.”
