D2N2 held its fourth – of six – free Business Breakfasts in Mansfield today (November 10).
Around 40 delegates attended the event held at Ransom Hall on Ransom Wood Business Park, in Mansfield.
The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership – a private sector-led partnership promoting economic growth and jobs creation in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – annually holds a series of free Business Breakfasts. It is a chance to hear from businesses, tell them about D2N2’s work on their behalf and show how companies can get involved in future projects or access growth funding.
Today’s event featured speakers including:
- David Ralph, Chief Executive of D2N2 (pictured speaking) – On recent D2N2 activities, and its future strategies given national economic changes, and about the potential economic advantage a proposed HS2 ‘eastern leg’, creating a Toton rail hub in Nottinghamshire and a Staveley maintenance depot in Derbyshire, could bring to the area.
- Guest business speaker – Malcolm Hall, Founder and Managing Director of Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies Ltd of Mansfield; who spoke about his workwear and industrial supplies firm’s quick growth and export success over the last ten years.
- Dr Patrick Candler, Chief Executive of The Sherwood Forest Trust and Board Member for the Lowland Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Local Nature Partnership (LNP) – Speaking in his capacity as an LNP Board Member. The LNP (which is backed by D2N2) represents businesses, communities, education providers, environment groups, health agencies, landowners and local authorities with an interest in protecting and improving the natural environment of lowland Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The area stretches east-west from Newark to Wirksworth, and north-south from Bawtry to Swadlincote.
Previous Business Breakfasts at Derby, Nottingham and Chesterfield have also been well attended and received, by businesses and other delegates. There are a few tickets still available for the final two free Business Breakfasts at Matlock (November 16) and Worksop (November 23). To book online to attend any of these click HERE.
