D2N2 has representation in two main categories at the forthcoming Careers Excellence Awards, emphasising the high-quality delivery taking place in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Anna Smith (pictured) of A Logical Ltd has made it to the final three contenders for the Enterprise Adviser of the Year Award for her work with Landau Forte College, Derby.
In addition, the Derbyshire Education Business Partnership has been shortlisted for Careers Provider of the Year.
Upon receiving the news of her nomination Anna said: “To not only to be nominated for this award but to be shortlisted is really unexpected. I thoroughly enjoy the work I do with Landau and with the wider EA network but being recognised is pretty special!”
In nominating Anna, Landau Forte College Principal Alison Brannick said: “Since Anna joined us she has become a real critical friend, offering us invaluable advice and constructive feedback and becoming a key member of our Careers Team.
“Anna was instrumental in setting up our Careers Strategy group, supporting our Careers Leader with the Career Mark application and supporting us to develop a highly effective and impactful strategic vision for CEIAG [Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance].”
Responding to her company’s nomination Clare Talati, DEBP Director, said, “We are extremely proud to be shortlisted for the Careers Provider of the Year Award. We work incredibly hard in partnership to strengthen and broaden the scope of Careers Education and ensure that learners benefit from, and schools meet the Gatsby benchmarks.”
Debbie Gerring, Headteacher at St Martins School and Horizons 6th Form said, “DEBP is an active, important part of St Martins outstanding provision. Colleagues provide proactive employer links, paving the way for our students, all of whom have additional needs, to access meaningful, inspiring employer encounters.”
The Careers Excellence Awards
The Careers Excellence Awards are presented in partnership by The Careers & Enterprise Company and The Gatsby Foundation. These awards are shining a light on best practice careers provision in schools, colleges, employers, local areas and providers across the country.
Over 200 entries were independently assessed by members of our external peer review panel of careers practitioners and our judging panel, chaired by Sir John Holman of The Gatsby Foundation, and including senior representatives of stakeholder organisations in the careers space.
The winners and highly commended in each category will be announced on 27 September 2019.
