D2N2, working with Skills Support for the Workforce, is seeking the views of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire employers via the D2N2 Employer Skills Survey.
As part of ongoing efforts to increase skill levels in our region’s businesses so they can grow and become more productive, D2N2 is seeking to understand what training provision would benefit the region’s businesses, both in current circumstances and under more normal business conditions.
D2N2 is keen to hear from employers of all sizes (including sole traders) and from all sectors and those interested in giving their view should complete the Survey before the deadline of 15th October 2020.
A 50p donation for each completed survey response (for the first 200 responses) will be made to the Good Things Foundation which supports digitally and socially excluded people to improve their lives through digital.
Those completing the survey can opt to receive a copy of the findings once published.
Skills Support for the Workforce
Skills Support for the Workforce is a programme developed to upskill employees within small and medium-sized businesses, delivered by Serco through a network of expert training providers.
The programme will provide recognised accredited qualifications and bespoke training courses to enhance employees’ skills, increase the competitiveness of businesses, and boost the local economy.
As a tailored programme of support, courses are bespoke to the training needs of the individual business at no cost.
Many of these courses are now available virtually to facilitate distance learning and home workers.
The programme is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

European Social Fund
The European Social Fund is one of the five European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).
The ESF invests in people, with a focus on improving employment and education opportunities across the European Union. It also aims to improve the situation of the most vulnerable people at risk of poverty.
The ESF in England contributes to local growth by increasing labour market participation, promoting social inclusion, and developing the skills of the potential and existing workforce. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is the Managing Authority for the ESF.
D2N2 recommends projects for ESF funding that seek to address these goals.
