Dryden Enterprise Centre set for opening at Nottingham Trent University

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is preparing to open the doors at the new £9m Dryden Enterprise Centre (DEC) as a hub for enterprise in the city.

D2N2 LEP has provided £2,818,520 of European Regional Development Funding to the centre, which will provide dedicated support for entrepreneurs, start-ups, small and medium sized enterprises.

The centre is set over four floors and presents open-plan desk areas, private offices, meeting rooms and event space along with comfortable communal areas to encourage networking and an outdoor space for exclusive use of members and guests.

Collaboration, connectivity and community are at the core of everything the Dryden Enterprise Centre is striving to achieve for entrepreneurs, start-ups, small to medium-sized businesses and larger enterprise. Members will have access to some of the best business experts in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire from Nottingham Trent University and its business network.

A programme of events is being offered to further support the centre’s enterprise community through workshops, talks, panels and more.

The Dryden Enterprise Centre is linked to the university’s existing Dryden Centre and will be the new home for Enterprise at NTU. The DEC will be the new hub through which staff, students, graduates and external businesses can benefit from a range of support, mentoring and training programmes which will be delivered by the dedicated Enterprise team, experts from the community and associate partners.

Michael Carr, Executive Dean of Enterprise at Nottingham Trent University, said: “After three years in the making, I am very excited that Nottingham Trent is opening the doors on our new Dryden Enterprise Centre.

“The work of the centre will build on our success in creating and supporting enterprises to grow, utilising a purpose-built building and state of the art facilities. We look forward to welcoming a range of co-locatees as we open and then see this develop into a flourishing enterprise community over the next couple of years.”

NTU Enterprise

The Dryden Enterprise Centre is the new home for Enterprise and Nottingham Trent University’s very own exclusive enterprise hub for both graduates and SMEs.

During the past year, NTU Enterprise has been offering support services digitally throughout lockdown. During spring 2021, it will permanently be moved to the Dryden Enterprise Centre to help facilitate new businesses in the region.
