D2N2 LEP: Making The Difference

For over ten years, the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has been driving economic growth and productivity through regeneration, job creation and skills development.

Since our formation in 2010, we have managed nearly £550m of UK and EU public funding to respond to our region’s needs, challenges, and opportunities. We work hand in hand with our partners in local authorities, the private, VCSE (Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise) and academic sectors to make informed decisions on the key priorities for our region.

Through our recovery and growth strategy, we are providing insight and convening strategic partnerships that will help shape and deliver business support, skills training, and innovation to rebuild our economy.

We have invested over £40 million to deliver the skills that our employers seek, and increase employment and apprenticeship opportunities for local people to boost the region’s prosperity. In addition, we have supported over 9000 SMEs to grow and for our high-value sectors to flourish thanks to our business support provision and strategic interventions.

Through our growth programmes, we champion our towns and cities regeneration and the development of vital transport and digital connections to enable all our people and places to realise their full potential. Together with partners, we have invested over £20 million to support and accelerate innovation to drive new technologies with worldwide opportunities.

Sajeeda Rose said: “I am proud of our role as champion of inclusive economic growth. Through collaborating with national, regional, and local partners, we are committed to driving forward productivity, skills development and business support across D2N2.

“With the government’s ambition to evolve the way it supports local growth and levelling up for the long term, there is now an opportunity to build on the legacy of the work of the LEP to maintain the focus on the regions prosperity.”
