D2N2 LEP Chair Elizabeth Fagan CBE has been presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at Nottingham Live Women in Business Awards 2021.
Elizabeth been recognised for her inspirational leadership and her commitment to the region’s growth. She was the first female managing director of one of the UK’s most notable businesses – Boots – helping to put Nottingham on the world stage.
Commenting on the award Elizabeth said: “I am delighted to be accepting this award. It’s often at the end of your career that you get ‘lifetime’ awards and I’m very pleased and proud of what I’ve achieved in my lifetime, both personally and within the businesses I have operated in…I look forward to continuing to work with everyone and continue to drive the economy of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.”
Elizabeth became Chair of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership in July 2018. Her career at Boots stretches back to 1983 when she joined as group buyer. Since then, she worked in a variety of senior roles, such as marketing director, Boots Opticians managing director, and Boots UK & Ireland managing director before being appointed non-executive chair in 2018.
Elizabeth is the former President of the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers and is a member and past President of Women in Advertising and Communications Club. She became a Fellow of the Marketing Society in August 2013 and was also a member of the ASA Council for six years. In January 2018, Elizabeth was appointed to the Board of the Office for Students, and in June 2018 was appointed Non-Executive Director of Brambles Limited.
Elizabeth received a CBE in 2020 for her services to gender equality in business.
