We’re continuing our Spotlight series with an update on a really useful resource for organisations who wish to get involved in supporting schools: The Education Landscape – A Guide for Employers.
The Education Landscape – A guide for Employers was brought together by The Gatsby Foundation, in partnership with organisations such as the Careers and Enterprise Company and the Department for Education (DFE), with support from ourselves at D2N2 LEP.
The guide sets out the benefits for businesses in supporting education, such as widening your talent pipeline, developing your employees, building new partnerships and putting something back into your local community. It’s a great boost for your Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals too.
Also included in the guide are practical ways businesses can get involved, such as providing workplace experiences, and supporting students’ learning by explaining how the subjects and skills they are learning link to your business operations.
There’s also a useful guide to the education system from birth to 18+ and a range of case study examples of good practice across the country.
Our Head of People and Skills, Fiona Baker, said:
“We were delighted to support the development of this new resource for employers. The education landscape can be quite complex and this guide is a really useful tool to help businesses navigate that landscape and focus directly on practical ways they can get involved and support their local schools.”
