Skills Bootcamps Wave 5
D2N2 LEP in partnership with Derbyshire County Council, secured £4,967,950 from the Department for Education to boost and broaden our Skills Bootcamps offer, as part of the fifth wave of Skills Bootcamps allocations. D2N2 LEP as the lead partner is now seeking delivery partners that can deliver Digital and Green Skills within and across the D2N2 LEP area.
What are Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses that can last up to 16 weeks and are fully funded to give people the opportunity to gain new skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer OR gain new skills in an existing job. Typically, Level 3, 4 or 5. They are free to all learners and can be online, face-to-face, or a mixture of both depending on the subject.
Who are they for?
Skills Bootcamps are for most adults over the age of 19. Adults who are unemployed or self-employed can attend Skills Bootcamps to learn the skills needed to find a job or get new contracts. Employed adults can attend Skills Bootcamps to learn a new skill that will help them find a new job with a different employer.
Employed adults who want to remain with their existing employer and learn new skills to help them take on new roles and responsibilities, or fill skills gaps within the business, should speak to their employer. Employers are required to contribute to the cost of the Skills Bootcamps if they want to send their employees to the Skills Bootcamps training, and the Government funds the rest. Employers with less than 250 employees contribute 10% of the cost and large businesses pay 30% of the cost.
