The East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) is inviting adult education providers to hear updates on the devolution of Adult Education Budget (AEB) funding.

All adult education providers delivering services across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are invited to attend this free webinar to hear about progress towards the devolution of AEB funding to the new East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA).

Following the East Midlands devolution deal, agreed with Government ministers in 2022, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Nottingham will benefit from more control and more funding and now have a new combined authority covering their region – the East Midlands Combined County Authority that came into being at the end of February 2024.

The event will be an online webcast, providing information sharing and progress updates. Delegates can expect to hear more about:

  • the latest news from EMCCA and its role in supporting skills in the region
  • progress towards achieving the readiness conditions that will allow Government to devolve AEB to the region
  • an outline approach to delivering AEB in the EMCCA region in future years

Delegates will also hear about future opportunities to engage with stakeholders on this subject as the devolved AEB becomes operational in September 2025.

There will be a Q&A panel as part of the session where you will be able to submit questions throughout the event.

Date: Tuesday 16th April 2024

Time: 12:30 – 13:30

Location: Online event (link will be sent after the booking process)
