A Healthy Outlook For Russell Scanlan’s New Client Ataraxia

Desford-based insurance broking firm Russell Scanlan Healthcare has been appointed by Ataraxia to manage its staff healthcare benefits package.

Located in Narborough and established in 2009, Ataraxia Broking was formed by Stuart Randall – a well-known figure in the local business community – to provide a unique and specialist succession planning service to insurance broking firm owners.

Tony Hulatt, who heads up Russell Scanlan’s healthcare division, explains: “We’ve quickly established ourselves as one of the Midlands’ leading independent healthcare specialists, offering a bespoke service to companies wanting to incentivise their staff with an improved benefits package.

“It’s fantastic that there is such a demand for our service, and we’re delighted that it is catching the attention of individuals such as Stuart Randall who has been the main driving force behind three highly successful local firms, Brett & Randall, Brokerbility, and now Ataraxia. It’s a massive vote of confidence to be trusted by someone like Stuart who is so well respected in our own industry to look after the wellbeing of his staff.”

Stuart Randall, CEO of Ataraxia, added: “We value the support of local businesses and Russell Scanlan is no exception. The firm has a proven track record and a great reputation across the region, and that’s why we chose to approach them.”

“We are confident that the personal service provided by the healthcare division team means we can receive all the advantages that a national broker can offer whilst maintaining local support that is essential in today’s economic climate.”

NHS funding shortfalls and waiting time pressures, changing legislation and tax implications relating to employee benefits packages were all factors which led Russell Scanlan to move into the healthcare sector earlier this year. The team provides a personal service to clients, testing the insurance market to identify a range of suitable options and negotiating the best package on their behalf.

Healthcare is just one of the sectors that Russell Scanlan specialises in. The independent firm – which serves a growing regional commercial, SME and private client base – has also developed a national reputation in niche sector insurance such as heritage and museums through to leisure and micro-brewing and cyber-crime. It has a wide-reaching and loyal customer base across the Midlands and the whole country. For further information, visit www.russellscanlan.com .

Ataraxia provides a unique proposition for owners of broking firms to create succession within their own business and to facilitate the acquisition of other brokerages.
