D2N2 has announced that Councillor Simon Robinson, Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council, will be a guest speaker at our AGM on 2 December
Cllr Robinson was elected to represent Edwalton back in 2011. In 2015, he was elected as Deputy Leader of the Rushcliffe Borough Council and elected as Leader in 2017. Simon has lived in the Nottinghamshire Borough of Rushcliffe for over 30 years.
Earlier this year Cllr Robinson issued a call for councils to work together to lower carbon levels from housing developments across the region and to work to higher environmental standards than currently provided in the National Planning Policy Framework.
At the meeting of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Council leaders facilitated by D2N2, Cllr Robinson called for more measures to reduce emissions from vehicles during new developments, retrofitting existing housing stock and encouraging the supply chain to be more carbon neutral with the recycling and sourcing of raw materials.
Councillor Simon Robinson is the Nottinghamshire Districts representative on the D2N2 Board.
