D2N2 has announced that Councillor Simon Robinson, Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council, will be a guest speaker at our AGM on 2 December
Cllr Robinson was elected to represent Edwalton back in 2011. In 2015, he was elected as Deputy Leader of the Rushcliffe Borough Council and elected as Leader in 2017. Simon has lived in the Nottinghamshire Borough of Rushcliffe for over 30 years.
Earlier this year Cllr Robinson issued a call for councils to work together to lower carbon levels from housing developments across the region and to work to higher environmental standards than currently provided in the National Planning Policy Framework.
At the meeting of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Council leaders facilitated by D2N2, Cllr Robinson called for more measures to reduce emissions from vehicles during new developments, retrofitting existing housing stock and encouraging the supply chain to be more carbon neutral with the recycling and sourcing of raw materials.
Councillor Simon Robinson is the Nottinghamshire Districts representative on the D2N2 Board.
D2N2’s Annual General Meeting will take place online on Wednesday 2 December from 10am and is open to members of the public.
The meeting will include a summary of our projects and achievements over the last year. We will also unveil our plans for future growth, outlining the interventions D2N2 will make to ensure our region is the heart of the UK’s recovery and growth.
Alongside our speakers, we will be hosting a panel discussion with our Advisory Board Chairs answering questions put to them by our audience on topics as varied as business, skills, and place. Questions for the panel must be submitted in advance.
Please email your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm on Friday 27 November with ‘AGM Question’ in the subject heading.
