D2N2-backed event Recruiting Talent is coming to Nottinghamshire

Tickets are now available for Recruiting Talent, a series of events designed to boost inclusive recruitment amongst businesses, which will be held in Nottinghamshire in 2019 and 2020.

The expanded tour of Nottinghamshire comes after the inaugural event, held in Derby in July, led to nine in every ten attendees considering using alternative approaches to fulling their vacancies and ensuring their future talent supply.

Over 100 businesses attended the workshops and networking activities, with experts from a range of organisations helping them to recruit future talent by using more inclusive approaches.

Recruiting Talent in Nottinghamshire

Attendees at a Recruiting Talent in Nottinghamshire roadshow event will see the benefits of inclusive recruitment, with case studies and input from employers who are reaping the benefits of increased productivity and growth.

The event will feature activities specifically designed to help employers to understand the current landscape around employment and skills whilst also having the opportunity to contribute to the local priorities in each district and wider plans in the Nottinghamshire area.

In addition to D2N2, Recruiting Talent’s partners include Nottinghamshire District & Borough Councils, The Department of Work and Pensions, East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire), Nottinghamshire County Council, Building Better Opportunities Stakeholder Managers, and Local Business Clubs.

Recruiting Talent Tour Dates

The events are running in each district in Nottinghamshire:

  • 19 November – The Goosedale, Pallewick, Gedling
  • 27 January – Castle House, Newark
  • 27 February – Strelley Hall, Broxtowe
  • 25 March – Bassetlaw
  • 2 April – Rushcliffe Arena, Rushcliffe

(Dates for Mansfield and Ashfield RT events are currently being planned.)

Strategic Economic Plan

The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership is the private sector-led partnership of business and local authorities which promotes economic growth across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

As outlined in Vision 2030, D2N2’s Strategic Economic Plan designed to further support productivity, prosperity, and inclusiveness across the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire economy, the organisation is driving towards helping those with complex needs into work, reducing the barriers to employment across the region, and improving workforce skills so that they meet the needs of business.

This ambition will involve encouraging the collaboration between business and our communities to give residents of D2N2 the skills and inspiration to broaden their career horizons and the businesses of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire the talent to create a more productive, prosperous, and inclusive future.
