D2N2 Chair Peter Richardson has been featured in an annual publication out today (September 28), which showcases the most influential people in Derby and Derbyshire from the worlds of business, manufacturing, creative, technology and education.
The Derby Telegraph’s Inspirational 250 publication – free in today’s edition of the paper – aims to showcase key figures from various sectors; including construction, manufacturing, creative and media, business and retail. Peter has been featured for his work as the Chair of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
Formed in 2011, the D2N2 LEP is a private sector-led partnership of local authorities, businesses, skills and training providers and community and voluntary organisations. It works to grow the economy of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire area, with the aim of creating 55,000 new jobs in ten years (up to 2023).
Peter Richardson has been Chair of the D2N2 LEP since 2012 and oversees the D2N2 Board, a mix of senior figures across the D2N2 area from the fields of education, business, skills and training, local authority and voluntary and community organisations. Prior to this, he worked as Chief Executive of the Derbyshire Builiding Society and is a past Chair of Derbyshire Business Link, Derby Cityscape URC and the Derby Renaissance Board, as well as being a former member of the Governing Council of the University of Derby.
David Williams, Chair of Geldards LLP and Peter Gadsby, Chair of Cedar House Investments, are also featured in the publication, for their contributions to professional services and construction, respectively.
Other notable people featured in this year’s publication are Liz Fothergill CBE, Chair of Pennine Healthcare, John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, Tony Walker, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota UK, and Kavita Oberoi OBE, Managing Director of Oberoi Consulting. Kavita is also scheduled to appear as the guest business speaker in the first of a series of six business breakfast events across the D2N2 area – for more information, click here.
Derby Telegraph Business Editor, Robin Johnson, says in his introduction to the supplement that: ”The Inspirational 250 aims to show the wealth of talented people we have here in Derbyshire. These are our captains of industry, driving the city forward onto regional, national and sometimes international success.
He adds:
“The Inspirational 250 is not a League Table. There is no ranking system putting one above the other. Each name has made the list because we feel they deserve a place on it for their hard work and success in their chosen profession.”
The names in the supplement were compiled by senior members of the Telegraph’s editorial team and are not ranked by level of influence.
