Ambitious and creative entrepreneurs can learn how to innovate and generate new ideas for their business, at a free ‘Summer of Design’, delivered by Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham Trent University’s Future Factory project, hosted by Mansfield Central Library and attended by the D2N2 Growth Hub.
Nottingham Trent University’s free ‘Summer of Design’ event will run a series of events from July 31 to September 9, 2015, at Mansfield Central Library, Four Seasons Centre, West Gate (NG18 1NH) and will allow budding entrepreneurs to see 3D printers and scanners, laser cutters, and design technologies in action, as well as the opportunity to network with other innovators.
The D2N2 Growth Hub – a business support service offering free help and advice to businesses across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire – will have a stand, and D2N2 Growth Hub Co-Ordinator Manny Agalamanyi (Pictured) will be there on Friday, July 31 to answer any questions and offer free support and advice to any businesses who are attending.

Summer of design will run from July 31 to September 9, over the following key dates:
- 31 July: Imaginative Design – launch event with expert speakers and inspiring stories
- 31 July – 2 August: Innovation and Design Exhibition
- 5 August: Design Management and Innovation Workshop
- 12 August: Design Using 3D Software Workshop (AM Beginners level & PM Advanced level)
- 19 August: Introduction to new technologies workshop
- 2 September: Practical hands-on workshop
- 9 September: Showcase event
The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) – a collaboration between business, local authorities, skills and training providers, and community groups – works to promote economic growth across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
