National Apprenticeship Week 2022 takes place from 7th to 13th February 2022. This week brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to celebrate the value, benefit, and opportunity that apprenticeships bring.
Now in its 15th year, the theme of National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is ‘Build the Future’, a continuation of the theme used in 2021 and allowing the week to link to the key pillars of the Build Back Better campaign.
There is a different theme and activities to take part in each day this week, all aimed at will showcasing the impact apprenticeships can have on communities, local businesses and regional economies and how they all benefit from the impact of apprenticeships. An event listing for our area can be found on the National Apprenticeship Week website, or you can get involved on Twitter using the hashtag #NAW2022.
On Wednesday 9 February, D2N2 LEP’s Interim Chief Executive, Will Morlidge, will be giving a key note speech at Nottingham Trent University’s Apprenticeships Conference.
Will said: “Apprenticeships are a great route into work for all. Not only do they provide individuals with industry recognised qualifications, and valuable practical skills but they also allow companies to mould them and adapt training according to the needs of their business.
“Opportunities are available for everyone – not just for young people – and are a really credible ‘work, earn, learn’ career choice.
“National Apprenticeship Week is the ideal time for anyone interested in apprenticeships to find out more and hear from those who have already taken this route.”
Build for the future – bringing apprentices into your business
We’ve compiled a series of videos from featuring some of D2N2 LEP’s Cornerstone Employers highlighting the impact apprentices make on the businesses they work for. Business leaders at companies including Rolls-Royce, Severn Trent and Eon talked about the energy, innovation and talent young people embarking on their early career bring to their team.
