D2N2 is the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire; with a target of creating 55,000 new jobs by 2023, mainly in the private sector. Life Sciences is one of D2N2s 8 priority sectors that shall create significant jobs and growth.

We are pleased to have launched the D2N2 Life Sciences Sector Strategy and Action Plan at the Medilink Board at Biocity on the 18th of November.
Medilink were commissioned to produce the plan and following wide consultation with private sector businesses and partners, the plan can be found at http://www.d2n2lep.org/LifeSciences.
The key recommendations that the Reference Group will be working on over coming months are:
- Working collaboratively with Biocity, Medipark, Medicity and Government Agencies including UKTI and DCLG, to maximise the benefits of the capital investments and infrastructure upon the sector – including the significant opportunities that exist within the Nottingham Enterprise Zone.
- Developing the framework to deliver high level of skills
- Access to finance, mentoring and business support tailored to the Sector
- Collaboration to develop new products/services with business clusters or universities
