The Derbyshire South Careers Hub is being launched on the 30 November 2021 (9am – 11am) at the Derby Silk Mill with an event featuring employers, schools, colleges, and local authorities.
The Derbyshire South Careers Hub is made up of 43 schools and colleges working together to strengthen links between education providers and local businesses to ensure school leavers are prepared for their best next step
Led by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Careers & Enterprise Company, the Careers Hub will work collaboratively with universities, training providers, employers, Enterprise Advisers, and careers professionals alongside lead school, the Chellaston Academy to deliver the Gatsby Benchmarks, a world class standard of careers education and improve careers outcomes for young people.
The launch will provide an opportunity to understand how the ambitions of the Hub will shape the future of young people in the Derbyshire South area, as they think about the skills needed and careers available in a rapidly changing landscape.
The event will include several guest speakers including representatives from D2N2 LEP, The Careers & Enterprise Company, Local Authorities, Schools, Colleges and Businesses. We will also hear from some young students to help us better understand their needs and desires for the future.
