CleanTech Business Network
Wednesday 3rd December – 5.00 – 8.00pm
Antenna Centre, Beck Street, Nottingham, NG1 1EQ
- What have the world’s fastest mobile phone charger, the first self-cleaning fish tank and a lifeguard’s watercraft all got in common?
- They have all been invented by local entrepreneurs who will be discussing how they have developed and launched these and other products at the next CleanTech Business Network meeting. (Register here)
Ross Kemp, Asap Water Crafts is the winner of Best Start-up Business in the UK Lloyds TSB Enterprise award 2013. Asap is an innovative, solar energy powered, assisted watercraft for beach lifeguards – a cheaper alternative to a jet ski. Ross has developed his invention with the help of Richard Reed founder of Innocent Smoothies as part of a BBC TV show. This led to contact with Richard Branson, who offered to fly the prototype craft out to be tested at Bondi Beach.
Leigh Purnell, Petalite has created the world’s fastest portable charging solution for all gadgets – a small eco-friendly battery that can fully recharge a smartphone within 15 minutes. Petalite have used automotive technology, originally developed for supercharging vehicles, to work with manufacturers to create the Pocket Power device.
Susan Shelley is the founder and director of Noux. Suzy has designed and launched Avo – the world’s first self-cleaning fish tank and recently raised £90k investment through Kickstarter within the space of one week.
At this event the speakers will discuss where their product ideas came from, the key lessons they have learnt along the way and their advice to fellow entrepreneurs.
