D2N2 Chief Executive David Ralph officially opened a property company’s new offices, and highlighted the importance of support and development for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
More than 100 people – including customers, partners and representatives of the local business community – were invited to the opening of Open Door Property Limited’s new state-of-the-art offices in Wheatley, Retford, which are powered by solar energy and heated using eco-friendly technology. Open Door Property Limited is a family-run property business which has sold homes worth around £30 million since it was set up in 2012.
David Ralph, the Chief Executive of D2N2 – the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – marked the opening by speaking on the importance of small business support and set up.
He said: “Small businesses such as Open Door are the lifeblood of the economy, not only in the East Midlands but also nationally. It is vital that SMEs are supported and nurtured so that they can grow. I applaud Open Door’s success and wish them all the best for the future.”
D2N2 are firmly committed to SME support and development, and set up the D2N2 Growth Hub in order to provide business support and advice across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. At present the D2N2 Growth Hub fields between 50-80 SME enquiries per month, with that number increasing all the time.
Director of Open Door, Graeme Naish, added: “The move to the new premises and this event marks a huge milestone in the development and evolution of the business. We’re delighted that so many of our supporters could attend tonight and mark this occasion with us.”
