Event: What next for Kickstarters?

Kickstart employers are currently supporting young people by providing them with valuable work experience and developing essential employability skills within their companies.

Many employers may now be starting to think about the next steps for their Kickstart employees and how they can continue to support them going forward – while retaining the valuable input they bring to the workplace.

The Department for Work and Pensions, the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and Kickstart Gateway organisations are hosting a free webinar on Thursday 23 September at 9am to help employers to better understand the progression opportunities for their ‘Kickstarters’, particularly they way they can be used a route into Apprenticeships.

The webinar will give information on how an Apprenticeship may be an ideal way of continuing to develop a young person’s career and employment skills after their Kickstart placement.

Attendees will:

  • hear from employers on how apprenticeships are benefitting their companies
  • find out about the range of incentives available for recruiting Apprentices
  • get a first-person account from a current Apprentice on how the scheme is supporting their career development and business skill needs.
  • Learn about the flexible ways to support Apprentices without employing them directly.
